It had the joy and allure of a world tour with a rich tapestry of foods, deco, music, traditions, and more.
Oak Trace senior living community in Downers Grove held its 13th annual United Nations event. Team members and residents joined together to share and celebrate their diverse cultures with food tents, dance demonstrations and participatory performances, gorgeous ethnic clothing, educational presentations, and more.
Countries represented included Africa, Albania, Poland, Mexico, the Philippines, Ireland, India, France, Italy, and the U.S. Residents traveled to get their ‘passports’ stamped at each destination.
“This was a joyful celebration of the diversity that we experience and embrace here at Oak Trace,” said Dan Harrington, Executive Director. “We are so fortunate to have team members and residents from around the world sharing their interests, talents, and traditions. As a result, our senior living community has a vibrant, meaningful culture of which we’re proud.”
