Empowering Wellness: Oak Trace’s commitment to thriving senior living

Oak Trace’s Wellness Fair Open to the Community

While ‘wellness’ is a trending buzzword, it’s the prevailing culture at Oak Trace.

The senior living community in Downers Grove integrates virtually every program, event, and meal with the opportunity to enhance wellness. “Residents have spent their lives working and taking care of their families. Now, at our dynamic retirement community, they have the time to take care of themselves and enjoy our engaging lifestyle. Wellness enables people to thrive. That’s what our residents want to do, and it’s what we want them to do. Thrive!” said Dan Harrington, executive director at Oak Trace.

On February 26th, Oak Trace is hosting a Wellness Fair, open to the public. The event will feature brief overviews from some of the senior living community’s team members who are experts on the programs and amenities supporting Oak Trace’s pillars of wellness. These include physical, spiritual and emotional well-being. In addition to Harrington, speakers will include Gina O’Leary, fitness supervisor, who will describe Oak Trace’s state-of-the-art fitness and aquatic center and abundant offerings. Chaplain Bill Eastwood, full-time non-denominational chaplain will present the community’s spiritual options, programming, and support. Danielle King, administrator, will explain the different levels of care available in Oak Trace’s Life Plan Community. Andy Beltz, director of sales, will briefly describe Oak Trace’s expansion and renovations and how they enhance the residents’ experiences across the campus.

After the presentations, attendees will have the opportunity to visit exhibits of various departments at Oak Trace, including dining and lifestyles. Partner organizations, including Moving Station, P.S. Salon, and Primary Care Physicians, will be present. Resident ambassadors will be available to talk about their experiences living at Oak Trace. Tours of the community and model apartment homes will be available.

“This is an excellent opportunity for the greater community to see all that we provide at Oak Trace,” said Beltz. “With our recent expansion and renovation, we’re excited to show off our beautiful amenities and spaces. The focus of the event is our culture of supporting wellness opportunities. Attendees will see that our team, across all departments, promotes that. Wellness helps people live longer and healthier and enjoy life. We look forward to being able to show this to attendees at the Wellness Fair.”

The Wellness Fair will begin at 10:00 a.m. at Oak Trace, 270 Village Drive in Downers Grove. Valet parking will be available, and a boxed lunch will be provided. The event is open to the public, but space is limited, so an RSVP is requested. Call 630-793-4034.
